About Dr. Vail

Dr. Richard H. Vail is a native of Alabama. After high school, he spent three years in the U.S. Army as an aviation crew chief and mechanic. After the service, he moved to Daytona Beach, Fla., to attend Embry Riddle Aeronautical University achieving a A&P mechanic’s certification, Associate’s Degree in Aircraft Maintenance, and a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management. He continued to work in aviation for fourteen years. He moved to Atlanta in 1975 to attend Life Chiropractic College in Marietta, Ga. Dr. Vail graduated in 1979 with a Doctorate in Chiropractic, moving to Clayton, Ga., to began his 40 year career in Chiropractic. Since chiropractic college, he has earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Hospital Administration, with a major in nutrition. He also completed hundreds of hours of nutritional study with Standard Process Labs, and functional medicine courses with Apex Energetics. Dr. Vail completed his post graduate degree in 2004 as a Doctor of Naturopathy (N.D.), with a certification from ANCB (American Naturopathic Certification Board). He is also a Certified Natural Health Professional (CNHP). Dr. Vail has a passion for learning about natural healing, preventive medicine, and holistic health care, to enable him to treat and educate his patients. He completed a Degree of Metabolic Technology from the International Health Institute (Dr. William Kelly) in Aug. 1983. He completed studies in Neurological & Orthopedics Examination from the postgraduate division of National-Lincoln Chiropractic College in 1984.He also has completed a certification in Sports Injuries and Rehabilitation from the postgraduate division of Los Angles College of Chiropractic, July 1989. In the first few years in Clayton, Dr. Vail spent three years attending monthly seminars in Atlanta, Ga., completing over 230 hours of post graduate studies in Orthopedics. He holds a Certification in Acupoint Physical Medicine, (a non-invasive acupuncture procedure using electrical and/or laser stimulation of the acupuncture points), from the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture, Inc. He has over 800 hours of study in Homeopathy, 300 hours with Dr. Linda Johnston, Academy of Classical Homeopathy, and 500 hours with Dr. Robin Murphy, Hahnemann Academy of North America, completing a Certification in Homeopathy (C-HOM) in 2002. He completed a certificate for completion for Neurotransmitters and Brain from NeuroScience Inc. in February 2011.
